The Stone of Jas is Your (Guthix's, mainly) hougyoku. Since it is an ancient object created by an elder god, absorbing it completely will give one a bit of elder godness. In SFCIII, when Jas planned to destroy RuneScape, you needed to retrieve this object so that Jas couldn't un-exist you and Inferus.
